Director of Event Operations
Jasmine Fonseca is the Director of Event Operations of PRSSA for the Fall 2019 semester. She was born and raised in Sacramento, California and came to Sacramento State right after high school. This is her fourth year at the university and she is expected to graduate Spring 2020. She is majoring in communications with an emphasis in public relations and minoring in French.
Coming into Sacramento State, Jasmine did not have a clear idea as to what she wanted to study. She began as a business major her freshman year. By sophomore year, she was a french major but eventually decided it was too narrow of a topic to study. Finally, by junior year she set her mind on public relations and she never looked back. She found a passion after years of being confused and indecisive.
When she is not with PRSSA or school, Jasmine works as a supervisor in a restaurant downtown called MaJongs. In her free time she enjoys going to live local music shows and concerts. Overall, Jasmine is honored to be a member of the executive board for the Fall 2019 semester and cannot wait to see what the chapter becomes with her work and the work of her peers.

Tanya Kaur is the newly elected PRSSA Vice President of Fall 2019. She is a graduating senior majoring in Business Administration. Wanting to explore and learn more about different subject areas of interest, she decided to pursue concentrations in Marketing and International Business, and a minor in Economics.
Tanya joined PRSSA in Fall 2018 with her curiosity and interest to learn more about Public Relations from her MKTG 123 class: Public Relations and Ethics in Business class. After acclimating herself with PR, Tanya realized that PR skills are fundamental life skills. By the second meeting, she knew she had made the right decision in investing her time and getting involved at PRSSA – it has helped her grow and has brought her to where she is today. In fact, she joined the organization not knowing anyone to making good friends, growing a large networking circle, and gaining valuable internship opportunities. Tanya’s goal this semester is to introduce PR and Marketing professionals of varying backgrounds and industries and host professional development workshops, for members to benefit from.
Her love for creativity drew her to Marketing, hence, Tanya also serves as the newly elected Vice President of Marketing at Women in Business. With her anticipation in making a positive impact in our community and helping our economy grow, she joined SMUD as an Economic Development & Partnerships Intern. She loves to travel, visit new places, meet new people and enjoys time in nature. Tanya is excited to meet our new members and encourages both, PR majors and NON-majors to check us out and join! Never be afraid to step out of your comfort zone – you never know where it may take you.
