Meet the executive board!
President, Sarah Barry
Sarah Barry is the president of PRSSA for the Fall 2018 semester. She was raised in Lincoln, California and she moved to Reno, Nevada where she attended the University of Nevada, Reno for her first two years of college. During fall of 2016, she moved back to Sacramento to continue her undergraduate education here at Sacramento state. She is graduating in December with a communication studies major and an emphasis in public relations.
Coming into Sac State, Sarah was unsure about which path in communications she wanted to pursue until joining PRSSA. Meeting public relation professionals and growing her understanding of the field helped her realize that she was in the right spot. As president, Sarah hopes to help members gain a better understanding about the benefits PRSSA can provide.
When she is not at school or with the organization, Sarah works at the California Department of Water Resources in the public information branch. She is also involved in Capital Cheer Elite which benefits local charities in our community. On her days off, you can find Sarah trying new restaurants, consignment shopping or binge watching TV shows.
Vice President, Jennie - Marie Britton
Jennie-Marie Britton is the vice president of PRSSA for the Fall 2018 semester. Joining PRSSA was Jennie’s favorite decision of her college career. PRSSA has allowed her to network not only with fellow members across the nation, but also with public relations professionals. Jennie hopes to pass on the acceptance and support that she received from her e-board her first semester of PRSSA in Spring of 2018.
When she is not at school or with the organization, Jennie works at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center as a customer service representative. On her days off, which is a rare occasion, you can find Jennie watching Friends, Greys Anatomy or Gilmore Girls, all of which she can quote to you at any given moment.
