Spring 2019 Executive Board
Jennie-Marie Britton will be serving as Sacramento State’s PRSSA President for the Spring 2019 semester. She is currently in her fourth year at Sacramento State studying Intercultural Communication. Jennie joined PRSSA her junior year and hit the ground running.
Jennie was born and raised in Acton, California. She decided to attend Sacramento State after being recruited to be a member of the rowing team. After a career ending injury, Jennie looked for her new niche on campus. Shortly after deciding to switch her major to Communications, Jennie found PRSSA.
PRSSA has allowed Jennie to expand her network and continue to expand her skill set. From conferences to workshops to internships, Jennie has done it all. She is very thankful for all the memories and fun times PRSSA has allowed her to enjoy. Jennie is very excited to serve as the PResident for the Spring semester.
On her off time, you can find Jennie in Los Angeles attending a Dodgers game. She’s probably the biggest Dodger fan you’ll ever meet. In case you ever wanted to take Jennie out to dinner, her favorite restaurants include FireWings, Buffalo Wild Wings or really any place that has wings. Her lifelong dream would be to be an umpire for Major League Baseball where she could interact with her favorite player, Matt Kemp.
Jennie will be graduating in May 2019. She plans on moving back to Southern California and finding a job in the public relations field. Her skills include quoting F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Gilmore Girls and Grey’s Anatomy. She also can bake some amazing chocolate chip cookies.

Chanté Boliard is the networking director of PRSSA for the Spring 2019 semester. She was raised in Citrus Heights, California. Born and raised in the area, Chanté came to Sacramento State right out of high school and was a member of the Sacramento State Cheer team and Gamma Phi Beta sorority. This is currently Chanté’s fourth year at Sacramento State, where she is majoring in communications with an emphasis in public relations and minoring in marketing. Chanté will be graduating in May 2019.
Coming into Sacramento State, Chanté was already dead set on being a public relations major and doing a marketing minor. She fell in love with marketing after taking a marketing class in high school and knew from that point on she wanted to eventually pursue a career in marketing. Her dream job would be to work in the marketing department for the NFL in Southern California. As networking director, Chanté hopes to help members connect with one another on not only a professional level, but a personal level as well.
When she is not at school or with the organization, Chanté works at HomeGoods as a merchandising associate. On her days off, which are not often, you can find Chanté watching Greys Anatomy or Riverdale and/or spending time with her boyfriend. Overall Chanté is excited to work alongside with the executive board and hopes to leave an everlasting impact within the chapter.

Jacqueline Barraza, commonly known as Jackie, is the vice president for spring 2019. Jackie was born in East L.A, where she loves to explore the unique restaurants and museums around Los Angeles. Jackie is a junior majoring in communication studies with a concentration in public relations; in addition to this, she is also minoring in marketing. Jackie plans to complete her degree in fall 2019, graduate in May 2020 and attend the Newhouse graduate program at NYU to further her studies in communication, public relations, and digital media. One of her biggest dreams is to work and live in New York City.
In her free time, Jackie enjoys attending museums whether it be in Los Angeles or San Francisco. A few of her favorite pop-up museums were Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) and Color Factory, in which she highly recommends for you to attend. If you have not met her yet, Jackie’s favorite dessert is ice cream and her favorite food is fries! She also enjoys fun activities such as roller skating, going to the movies, laser tagging, any activity where she can spend time with her friends because they mean the most to her.
Jackie joined PRSSA in fall 2017 as a communication studies major but after joining the chapter, she was quickly influenced to study public relations. She believes that PRSSA is a vital organization to gain membership from, as the experience and skills gained will last for the long run. Through PRSSA, she was able to be a part of the executive board, become a regional ambassador, and intern as an Amazon Prime Student Ambassador. Regional and international conferences are her favorite events to attend as a member because this is where she networks and creates lasting relationships with other PRSSA members from all over the state. She is also planning to run for the PRSSA National Committee so let’s give her some support! Overall Jackie is excited to be working with the executive board this semester and hopes to positively impact members within the chapter.

Elizabeth Arias Portillo
Elizabeth Arias Portillo is the Outreach Director for Spring 2019. She was born in Queens, New York and grew up in Sacramento, California. Elizabeth is a senior majoring in communication studies with a concentration in public relations and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2019.
Elizabeth joined PRSSA in Spring 2018, and it was there she learned what public relations meant and about the endless opportunities that came with a communication studies degree. PRSSA has enhanced her college experience through networking events, conferences and guest speakers. Elizabeth has been able to connect with a plethora of people, widened her perspective on job opportunities and grow confident about her future. Wanting to share that experience inspired her to take on a leadership position within the club.
Elizabeth believes this organization has the ability to establish itself on campus and within the Sacramento community. She is excited to serve as your Outreach Director for the spring semester.

A graduating senior, Johnny Chao is a first generation American and the first in his family to graduate college. Majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Marketing, Chao serves as Editor-in-Chief of PRSSA Sac State and also holds an intern position at San Juan Unified School District.
When he has the opportunity, Chao enjoys playing video games, going on food adventures and getting some much-needed nap time. Above all, Chao values professionalism, hard work and determination. Chao considers his many obligations as a fun and exciting part of his life.

Dayana Flores is a fourth year graduating senior majoring in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. She is a transfer student from Visalia, CA, where she got her AA in Journalism at the College of the Sequoias. She has been a part of the digital committee all her three semesters in PRSSA and in the networking committee for one semester.
She is bilingual in Spanish and comes from a Mexican background. After college Dayana hopes to eventually move to Southern California and work in digital media or advertising. One of her dream jobs would be working in the digital media world, creating videos and graphics for various companies. She hopes to one day travel around the world filming her travels to inspire people to take a leap of faith and try something out of their comfort zone. She is a huge YouTube fan and recommends everyone subscribe to the channel Yes Theory.
Since joining PRSSA, she’s had the chance to network with many of her fellow members and other professionals, where she’s gotten the chance to see the broad possibilities of PR. Her hope is for more diversity and inclusivity in the Public Relations world in the near future. Finally, she’d like to thank her fellow PRSSA members for electing her for the role of Digital Director and can’t wait to see what the new semester has in store!

Ramy Ghobashy is the new elected Finance Director of PRSSA for spring 2019. Born in Minnesota and raised in Sacramento, Ramy grew up in a family household as the oldest sibling. Business and how the economy works has always been his passion as a child growing up, and so he decided to take on his studies at Sac State and earn his degree in economics along with minors in business and communication studies.
During his free time, Ramy takes classes and reads different books on real estate investing and stock trading. He has currently been taking classes on real estate and stock trading and has been successful as he continues to improve. Not only that, but he is a huge fan of basketball. Whenever he isn’t reading or learning, he’s watching or playing basketball. With spring 2019 coming up, Ramy hopes to graduate and begin a new chapter of his life.

Brittany Burke is the Secretary of PRSSA for the Spring 2019 semester. She moved to several different states while growing up, but finally made a home in Sacramento six years ago. After earning her Associate’s degree in Business Administration at Folsom Lake College, Brittany transferred to Sac State where she is working towards a degree in Communication Studies. She will be graduating in May 2019.
In her free time, Brittany enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is happiest when she is outside, especially by the ocean. Any time she has an opportunity to do so, Brittany loves to take weekend trips to explore different areas of California.
Brittany joined PRSSA during the Fall 2018 semester and instantly felt like a part of a community. She is looking forward to building new relationships while participating in all of the upcoming events this semester!
