COMMUNICATION STUDIES / JOURNALISM 158
Public Relations Planning and Management gives students the opportunity to create a strategic public relations plan for a real campaign. This class allows students to pull from what they have learned in 118 and 123 and put those skills into action. Some of the skills will include; developing and implementing a strategic public relations plan; producing targeted messages for media kits; developing and evaluating formative and summative evaluation plans; and making formal in-class presentations to peers, clients and invited PR professionals. Issue Management and Case Studies refines students skills and builds knowledge of crisis management. Students learn how to examine other organizations who have had issues with crises and what successful and unsuccessful paths were taken to get out of those situations.
